Fix the typos.
Keep your voice.

Select any text, press ⌃⇧G. Spelling, punctuation, capitalisation and grammar get fixed in place. Your phrasing, your tone and the names in your dictionary stay exactly as they were. No microphone involved, nothing uploaded.

Corrections only

It fixes mistakes. It doesn’t have opinions.

The brief

Spelling, punctuation and grammar are the whole job

The local cleanup model gets one instruction: fix spelling, punctuation, capitalisation and grammar, and preserve meaning, tone, formatting, names, numbers, dates, URLs and code. It isn’t asked to make you sound better, only correct.

Your dictionary

It knows your nouns

The terms you added and the corrections Velora learned from your edits ride along with every proofread. Words it picked up on its own stay out, because those are guesses. A colleague’s unusual surname, your product name or an internal acronym is not “corrected” into something ordinary.

In place

The selection is the contract

Velora captures the exact editable range you selected and replaces only that. If the selection moves before the fix is ready, it refuses rather than guessing. The result is a normal edit, so ⌘Z in the app restores the original.

Anywhere

Native apps and the browser

Where macOS exposes the selection through accessibility, it is read directly. Where it does not (a text box in Chrome, for instance) Velora asks the app to copy, reads the text and restores your clipboard. Read-only text, such as a web page, is proofread onto the clipboard instead.

The fine print

  • Proofread uses no audio and never invokes the speech model. It is a text-in, text-out pass through the local cleanup model.
  • Selections longer than 8,000 characters are refused with a notice rather than truncated.
  • Secure input fields (password prompts) block it, by design.
  • The corrected text is pasted as plain text. Line breaks and Markdown survive; bold, links and other rich formatting inside the selection may not.
  • If the app will not accept the replacement, the corrected text is left on your clipboard and Velora says so.
  • The default shortcut is ⌃⇧G and can be changed in Settings › Shortcuts. Proofread can be switched off entirely.
