Feature

Any recording in.
A transcript out.

Voice memos, interview recordings, screen captures with a voice track: open them with Velora from Finder and get a transcript written next to the file. On your Mac, with no per-minute meter running.

How it works

Finder-native, queue-smart.

Open With

Right there in Finder

Velora registers as a handler for common audio formats plus QuickTime and MPEG-4 video. Right-click → Open With → Velora, or use the in-app picker. Same result.

Video too

MOV and MP4 welcome

Velora decodes the audio track out of video files on your Mac. A screen recording or a lecture capture transcribes just like a voice memo.

Orderly

Busy is not broken

Files opened before the engine is ready, or while another job runs, queue in order and process when their turn comes. Nothing is dropped on the floor.

Free

No per-minute anything

Batch transcription is a paid add-on in most tools. Here it’s the same local model you already downloaded. An hour of audio costs you compute, not money.

The fine print

  • Imported files currently produce a plain transcript — speaker labels and timestamps for arbitrary files are on the roadmap (meeting recordings made in Velora do get speaker separation).
  • DRM-protected media, directories, and remote URLs are refused by design.
  • Long files take local compute time; the job continues in the background and lands in History.

Free. Open source. Local.

Stop typing. Keep writing.

Already using Velora? A star is how the next Mac user finds it.
